One of the best things about having a dog is going for lovely long walks and spending quality time with them. However, walking can become a dreaded chore if your dog pulls on the lead.
When I got my dog Remi, I realised how lucky I had been with all my other dogs, who naturally walked on a loose lead. Remi, however, PULLED A LOT, and as soon as she was on the lead, it was like she didn't even know I existed and definitely didn't know I was holding the other end of the lead.
I tried everything, positive reinforcement training techniques, treats, clickers, and other trainers online courses, but Remi remained a furry steamroller on four legs!
Does this sound familiar to you?
The good news is that after some creative problem-solving and Tellington TTouch leading techniques, Remi is now a delight to walk on the lead.
Firstly, she knows I'm on the other end of the lead - that's a massive win right. Remi regularly looks back and checks in with me. She is no longer leaning forward into her harness and the lead is relaxed. Plus she's no longer pulling my arm out of its socket, and our walks are much more fun.
Now that we've worked on focus and connection, the outside world isn't just a source of excitement for Remi; I'm also a part of that enrichment.
Ready to transform your walks into stress-free strolls?
In my 'Walking in Balance' Workshop I will show you all the things I use to create enjoyable walks with your dog.
You will learn gentle techniques using Tellington TTouch to create a deeper bond and more focus with your dog, leading to effortless walking without the pulling.
Teaching your dog to walk on a loose lead doesn't happen in a day unfortunately, that's why I've created an online supporting course to go with the In-Person workshop. You'll have everything you need from How-To videos and PDFs covering everything we looked at during the workshop, so that when you get back home you can go over everything whenever you need to.
You can access the VIP Client Community, 'Bark to the Future' as a Canine Support Client. Within this community, you have additional support from Katharine, alongside other members who have been in your position. This is a safe place to share your videos for feedback and share your wins. There is also additional support, training and information which is only shared with clients.
It's always nice to know you have someone you can turn to if you get stuck, that's why you will have Katharine as a Coach in Your Pocket after the workshop. You can WhatsApp message or email any questions, concerns or if you need any further support, including any technical issues you may have.
You can download the FREE Canine Support App so you can view all your course content on your mobile phone or tablet. This is perfect if you want a quick reminder of the techniques used with the step-by-step videos.

Tellington TTouch is a specialised approach to the care and training of our animals. It can be used as a stand alone therapy or integrated into your positive reinforcement training plan.
Leading Techniques are a key component in the Tellington TTouch Method, and we use the TTouch Playground (also known as the Confidence Course) to practice new skills and re-educate ourselves and our dogs about walking on the lead.
At first glance, the TTouch Playground may look like an obstacle or agility course, but we navigate the obstacles at a slow speed to develop the dogs' focus and concentration, improving their confidence and the connection you have together. Having fun is essential as this aids the dogs' ability to learn and improves their body awareness.
The TTouch Playground can be described as an 'awareness course' for both the dogs and humans involved. Mindful, slow and steady groundwork is an essential element of the TTouch method.
