Just five places available, so you and your dog can receive individual guidance in a small group.

Do you sometimes wonder what your dog is trying to tell you?

Perhaps your dog turns away when you reach towards them, braces when you put on their harness, or finds grooming and handling uncomfortable. They may become easily overwhelmed or struggle to settle. Sometimes they appear to be coping, but you sense there is more going on.

When you want to help, it can be difficult to know what they need from you.

Tellington TTouch® offers another way to understand and support your dog, bringing together gentle bodywork, body wraps, groundwork and leading, all guided by what your dog communicates.

This five-week TTouch course at West Buckland Village Hall gives you time to explore these elements alongside your own dog, with guidance from me as you learn.

Your dog doesn’t need to have a particular difficulty for you to join us. Wanting to understand them more deeply is reason enough.

What you and your dog will explore

Throughout the course, we’ll bring together the different elements of the Tellington TTouch® Method, allowing what we notice to guide how we work.

Understanding your dog’s communication
Learn to notice the smaller details in your dog’s posture, movement and willingness to engage. We’ll explore how these can help you recognise when to continue, make a change, pause or stop.

TTouch Body Wraps
Discover when and how TTouch body wraps may be helpful for your dog, how to introduce them, and what to look for in your dog’s responses.

TTouch Bodywork
Explore a selection of TTouches with guidance as you try them with your dog. You’ll begin to develop a feel for the work, paying attention to what your dog communicates and adapting as you go.

TTouch Groundwork and Leading
Explore slow, thoughtful on-lead exercises that bring attention to balance, body awareness and how you and your dog move together.

You’ll be working with your own dog throughout the course. With a maximum of five dogs in the group, there will be plenty of time for individual guidance and adapting what we explore to suit you and your dog.

Between sessions, you’ll have time to explore what you’ve learned, notice what happens in everyday moments with your dog, and return with questions or experiences we can discuss together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. This course is an introduction, so you are welcome as a complete beginner. If you attended one of my taster evenings, it offers the opportunity to explore further with your own dog.

Please email me at info@caninesupport.co.uk or call 07369 251682 before booking so we can discuss your dog’s needs and whether the group setting is likely to suit you both.

No, any specialist equipment needed during the course will be available to borrow. Just bring your dog’s lead and a small bed, blanket or piece of vet fleece so they have somewhere comfortable to settle. A small water bowl and a bottle of water are useful too. All dogs will need to remain on lead throughout the sessions.

Ongoing access is included in the course price, so you can revisit the materials between sessions and after the in-person course has finished.

That’s something we can explore together. We’ll take time to notice how your dog feels about touch and look at how small changes in the way you approach and make contact might help. Please have a chat with me before booking so I can learn a little more about your dog.

In TTouch, we often say “moments rather than minutes”. You can explore what you’ve learned in brief moments together, when it feels appropriate for you and your dog. There’s no set amount to complete before the next session.

You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a refund minus a 10% administration fee. This grace period does not apply when booking within 48 hours of the first session. After the 24-hour period, your booking is non-refundable unless your place can be filled. Once the course has started, refunds and transfers are not available.

There are no planned breaks during the five-week course. In exceptional circumstances, such as severe weather, local flooding, or venue closure, a session may need to be postponed. I will give you as much notice as possible and arrange a replacement session.
