Course Summary

Walkies time should not fill you with dread and anguish by the thought of being pulled on the lead, embarrassed by your dog barking and lunging at others, or by the fear of your dog being scared by something like that off-lead dog who's "friendly." If you don't enjoy walks like that, you can guarantee your dog doesn't enjoy them either. So why put yourselves through all that stress? In this course, we are taking all the skills we have learnt so far from the previous Reactive Dog Courses and are now taking them out into the world. We will cover when to train, when to walk, and how to set you and your dog up for success. We will look at triggers in more detail and our dog's emotional responses to those triggers, be it fear, frustration or over-excitement. We will cover kind and gentle lead techniques and how to communicate with your dog through the lead and with your body language. There are even more games to play with your dog to make your walks successful, top tips on dealing with other people and dogs on your walks, and hazard awareness.
